I get why people are frustrated at the lack of care and attention Viz gives the franchise, but honestly from my outsider perspective, I feel like I get it. Like they spent a lot of money on Homestuck right after it was finished and right when Act 1 of Hiveswap was coming out and proceeded to put a lot of effort into marketing it at cons and giving hardcover mass release print runs of the books and The Epilogues and then just none of it caught on and none of it sold how it needed to and the highly anticipated Epilogues were, at best, incredibly divisive and things like Hiveswap are taking way way way too long. I’m sure there are ways Viz made things even harder and their lack of upkeep on the website is frustrating and disappointing. But I also can’t say I blame them for seemingly abandoning Homestuck when Homestuck seems determined to abandon itself
